In case you missed it - Hope House- Joy Closet as was awarded a grant during the 75th Annual Hopkinsville Rotary Auction! The Hopkinsville Rotary Foundation awarded its tenth grant during the 75th Annual Hopkinsville Rotary Auction to Hope House- Joy Closet! Joy Closet has seen so many stories about children being taken from their homes and social workers not being able to immediately find a placement for them. These children end up sleeping on a couch or air mattress in a DCBS office. Joy Closet’s solution to this is the Hope House! The Hope House will be a home where the Case Workers and the children can go on removal day. In most situations, workers have no other choice than to bring the children back to their office on removal day. The children, who have likely just experienced a very traumatic situation are often taken to a sterile office to sit and wait quietly while workers search for a placement for them. The Hope House will provide a friendly home setting where children can go to on removal day and have a loving home environment, stocked kitchen, toys, clothing, crafts and more. We are so humbled to be able to help give hope for the foster care journey, one child at a time! ... See MoreSee Less
